BootHeelArt.Com was inspired by Missouri Artist Ms. Opal Caruthers. The site permits visitors to view and purchase original oil paintngs from the historic Southeast Missouri Bootheel. The Bootheel offers an abundance of unique art images and Ms. Caruthers has captured many of them.

Ms. Caruthers has spent all her career in the scenic Bootheel having resided in Pemiscot County for the past 71 years.   Her colorful style is very popular with her patrons.  Now, through the magic of the Internet, her Missouri art is available to all.

She loves to paint her beloved Missouri Bootheel.  Ms. Caruthers believes there is a lifetime of painting to be done there because of its intense history, interesting people, and scenic Missouri  landscapes.  However, she occasionally will travel and sometimes can't resist painting a beautiful setting wherever she finds it.  She paints any subject matter in any desired style from realism to abstact.  Her favorite painting style is impressionism.

Ms. Caruthers is a member of and has been accepted as a Juried Artist in the Best of Missouri Hands.  She is also a member of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri and is the current president of the Pemiscot County Historical Society. 

Ms. Caruthers also offers magnificent oil portraits from your photogaphs. In addition, BootHeelArt.Com Gallery accepts paintings from fellow Missouri artists.  Now, visitors may have a selection from a wide array of original Bootheel oil landscapes and other Bootheel regional art by local talented artists.
